Every one of us has a place in our house where we hide our valuables thinking that no one can find it there. However, burglars are well knowledgeable about the common storage areas and often sneak into households and locate those places easily. Thus, if your valuable are hidden in common hiding places as well, switch places immediately to avoid being the next victim.

Discover some very usual hiding places you must avoid:

Wardrobe Storage: Hiding valuable among your clothes is one of the first choices of many. Unfortunately, the burglars also know that is the first place they look into. Common mistake is hiding your money or jewelries in coat pockets or under your clothes.

Large Steel Safes With Combination Locks: Combination lockers, as presumed, are pretty safer. But then, there have been instances of burglars breaking in through combination safes without much trouble. Combination safes are thus, not a bad choice but the danger certainly remains.

Under Matteress: It is a very common habit to slip things under your mattress. That is why burglars always look there. So don’t make the mistake of thinking you can fool them by hiding things there.

Hidden wall safe behind pictures or such common places: The hidden wall safe is one nice hiding place adopted by many people today. Many times, they are hidden behind pictures or such common items and people think that are hidden. But burglars again are much smarter than we think and can possible guess where your wall safe is. So put your hidden wall safe in a place that is really uncommon and not clichéd!

Hidden Cabinets: You might laugh at this; nevertheless hidden cabinets are not hidden any more. People often make hidden cabinet in wooden structures which are easily guessed by burglars in search of secret hiding places.

So how can you hide your valuable from burglars? In place of these common hiding places, you can select kitchen cabinets, flower pots or put your safe inside your floor. These are better choices. You can always have a first line of defense in form of burglar alarms and other preventive methods. But still if they do break in, then these hiding places will be your last line of defense. So choose your place very carefully.
